I think that's great, and if you live in a part of the city that has good transit, go for it. As I said earlier, I had to go to the juvenile justice center for a meeting, TripPlanner said it would take 75 min, including a walk up & down a steep hill from Pioneer Sq. By car it took 20 min.

NE Seattle - over 30 years our bus service has steadily been cut

laugh all your want, I've seen it

1/2 Where in my post did I say that parking mandates benefit the poor?! Seattle needs more low/middle income housing NOW, and its density plan is not going to solve that. We need more housing vouchers (e.g., like section 8) now, and strong incentives to build low/middle income housing

2/2 90 MINUTES to travel 6 miles, from NE Seattle to lower Queen Anne. That you state that Seattle doesn't have traffic slowdowns indicates that you're not a reliable source of information.

1/2 Seattle has SIGNIFICANT slowdowns!!!! If you haven't experienced traffic then I have to wonder when & where you're driving. In my neighborhood in NE Seattle traffic not infrequently backs up 2-3 blocks at traffic lights every morning and every evening. About a month ago it took us

I apologize, I misunderstood - I thought you were promoting street cars with fixed tracks. I agree that that these are superior
September 29, 2025 at 5:35 PM
electric buses are superior bc they don't require fixed tracks; bus lines can be changed in response to population shifts (and fixed tracks are dangerous to cyclists whose bike wheels get caught in the tracks)

I disagree, but time will tell, won't it?

An architect I spoke with about this said that developers build to maximize profit, which means no offstreet parking. imo, the state needs to address the traffic situation by heavily investing in public transit so people can get to their destinations in reasonable amounts of time without a car.
September 28, 2025 at 3:25 PM
the problem is that much of Seattle does not have good transit, no where close

2/2 recently I had to go from north Seattle to Seattle's juvenile justice center; KC Metro trip planner said public transportation would take 75 min, including a 0.8 mile walk up a steep hill from the Pioneer Sq light rail station; google maps said it would take 20 min to drive. Guess what I did
September 28, 2025 at 1:05 AM
1/2 your idealism is so cute - seen traffic lately? if only we had a robust public transportation system . . . which we don't, in most areas . . . so people still need cars . . . even at the current density levels parked cars make narrow neighborhood streets one lane, impeding emergency vehicles

silverbacks - decades ago I had one (descented) as a pet that I got from a rescue bc someone descented her and then dumped her at the rescue. they should NOT be kept as pets (I think it's illegal in most/all states now?), they are wild animals and can carry rabies
