I don't know how so many people are still confused about this.
I am going to try my best to make sure the resources go back on the department website. Great start to summer.

As a reminder no one is stealing anyone's jobs - one of you just know the job exists and how to apply, interview and make connections, and the other doesn't even have a clue where to begin. DEIB resources told them how to find the job and apply to it. NOT guarantee them a job.

As someone who has worked many years on trying to make physics and astronomy departments (and STEM) more inclusive by promoting DEIB resources - I am scared of the impact all this will cause in the coming years.

Removing said resources characteristically gives everyone a disadvantage. You are playing in a swamped field while your able bodied-cis-white-male colleague is walking on a smooth road with no potholes.

If you were ever in a class where you thought others have an advantage over you due to any reason- social, economic, mental, physical - then DEIB work and resources were for you!

I cannot begin to talk about how important DEIB work is not only to members of the LGBTQIA2+ population but also disabled students, minority students, WOMEN, students from low-income families, first generation students, students in abusive departments, students with dependents, and so many more.
