That, plus assimilation into whiteness is affecting Latinos views regarding their place within the United States. I say that, Latinos are the Italians of our century. All this to say, we shouldn’t view Latinos as one monolithic group and ought to have some reclassification.

Nationalist differences are important, a Mexican American will have more sympathy for Mexicans rather than Latinos as a whole. Since the new wave of immigration from LatAm is from Central America, I believe Latinos from Mexico or other part of LatAm were willing to bet they wouldn’t be affected.

1. Despite a relatively high voter turnout, Dems performance was unimpressive. This could be due to a multitude of reasons, such as what the Democrats were running on like “Democracy” and January 6th. I believe it came down to mobilizing key groups within the big tent, students, minorities, ect.
