For a huge chunk of the 20th century, a majority of Americans were on board with socialist ideals. The Eisenhower era's progressive tax system enabled a lot of great infrastructure that we still rely on.

But in the mid-60s, Americans suddenly stopped being ok with lifting others up. I wonder why.
