I own a business in a small town. Just paid a $117 tariff on a $1600 order. The company paid the same We split the tariff. Guess whose customers will pay more this month for items we have stocked for decades?

My bookstore in rural Alaska is one of those businesses. We are 41 years old but run on a tight margin because most of my book costs and prices are fixed by the publishers. It’s not up to me what I charge. Most children’s toys and gift items are made overseas.
