2 wk post-op visit complete. A 10cm wedge was placed on the lateral side of my left femur and my IT band was lengthened. Off narcotics. Brace was unlocked so I can bend my leg and fit in the driver seat. Won’t start bearing any weight on my left for another 2 wks. All good progress!

And here we are. Day 1 post op. Feeling comfortable with all the meds 😋

It’s not as sexy as my original dining room sitting area, but it will be a lot better than climbing stairs with a broken leg. Four more days until surgery.

Last row for maybe a year and a half.

These are my last several dog walks before my first surgery. Being non-weight bearing on my left leg for 4-6 weeks is gonna be tough. I’ll miss watching my buddy frolic on the beach and in the woods.

So much gratitude for the Bellingham Lions Club and their Al Boe wheelchair warehouse. I walked in and was outfitted with an easy-folding wheelchair, walker with meal tray, crutches and a shower stool. On loan, no charge. I’m nearly ready for my convalescence.

2.5 wk countdown to my surgery date. I’ve increased strength work the past couple months to prep for atrophy, booked post-surgery PT and personal training. Time to set up downstairs bed and get mobility devices from the Lions Club. Here’s a b4 pic of one side of my dining room-soon to b my bdrm.
