Of course this only guarantees a vote. They could always vote against the bill once it gets to the floor.

I don't know if the cold air machine is a standard thing. It was offered to me on my second session because I looked uncomfortable.

My IPL operator has a machine that blows cold air. She lets me hold and point it which makes me feel like I'm in control and keeps my hands busy. It makes a blowing noise too which I like but you might not. We also take short breaks after each section, and we don't continue until I ask to.

My guy I am quoting case law and linking complaints and you are replying with some random guy's skeet. Goodbye.

This would seem to contradict your analysis of the case, but I suppose there's always room for creative interpretation in common law.

Here is a quote from Powell v. McCormack which they cite:
"the Constitution leaves the House without authority to exclude any person, duly elected by his constituents, who meets all the requirements for membership expressly
prescribed in the Constitution."

I was asked about the legal basis for the complaint and provided an accurate summary of their argument. Here's the complaint for reference: storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

The only qualification at issue here is the oath. The constitution says that an oath must be taken, but not who must administer it. It is customary for the speaker to do so but there isn't any law saying it must be the speaker.

They're relying on Powell v. McCormack, a ruling that a member of congress may only be excluded if they do not meet the qualifications laid out in the constitution. The qualifications are: >=25 years of age, citizen for 7 years, must be a citizen of the state you represent, and taken an oath.

There are currently 221,353 people blocking the dhs account via lists. It would be hard to draw attention to yourself in that crowd.

You've got unconditional bodily autonomy in your bio so I figured we were fundamentally on the same team. I appreciate your understanding!

Think about it this way: if a cis woman has hair growing on her face, it's diagnosed as hirsutism. It's a physical ailment, and the solution is to change the body. You wouldn't call a woman mentally ill for experiencing dysphoria because of her facial hair.
