Non binary. Be kind. Show up.
Curious about people but mostly alone.
In love with my 1989 Shasta Revere caravan. Making adventures every step of the way.
Hands Off rally energized my soul. Resistance! Connections!
For over a year I have been seeking the source of the leak w/o demolition. The expression of it was under a side bunk window, wicking from the bottom, up.

I intuited the problem must be coming from the forward bunk long window as I have already corrected the roof overtop the small side window.

It was surprising how much work it takes to live in a small camper. It has to be tidy or can't even move around. That's a basket cat. The baskets helped a lot since we took out the cupboard doors to shed weight and feel more space.

We enjoyed empty campgrounds just after Labor Day

Perhaps the tire blow out was simply heat and speed related. But this damage was part of a side swipe on day two.

Crazy blowout on day two of the trip was a surprise. Now we are nearly home but it was a compressor wheel froze up, snapped a belt, left us stranded on the interstate shoulder for five hours.

Folds and rolls

The front needs work. Unclear exactly how to proceed. Will ponder...my tiny scaffold has been JUST what I needed.

Worked with my hands four hours this morning. That's way more than lately. PT has helped a lot. Still, it looks like carpal tunnel release surgery is in my future.

At least I finished up the taping/sealing on one side of the Caravan. Very satisfying. Maybe I can finish up in 2 more sessions.

"The ill human" is no longer welcome in my head, mouth ears. If Spouse pops off, I leave the room. TV news is allowed in a few minutes only.

Here is one of my favorite diversions:

Laid down improved temp-fix flooring while the priority list catches up. Thank you for the free flooring boxes!

So hey, yes I'm old. Yes I like driving the Chevy Van with the big box on it, and it feeds a dream.

Know this; it is also an escape-mobile for hurricane season as well as a fall back option for shelter if this administration really does come after SSDI.

Paranoid or prepared?

Hey hey! Caravan is up and running. Fresh new gas after the new carburator and battery makes it start up like a champ. The gears are working great.

I am taking small trips around town to build skill and confidence before any road trip. A touch of swag is also a better grip for sore hands.

This is my AC 4/23/25 when it got knocked off the roof by a branch while being hauled out to get transmission rebuilt.

He says the tranny is done. Has had the AC unit two weeks. Gave me his word would be done this week.

I offered to uninstall AC myself. Am I being a jerk? I want it back home!

It's a nailbiter waiting for the rebuilt transmission & new AC installation for Caravan. Trust issues. Expecting it done next week.
Plenty of time for shoulder rehab exercises.
Me SO cranky

This is the second time these neighbors have saved our bacon. They spotted our porch on fire 5 years ago and saved the house by calling fire dept.

If not for them yesterday, nobody would have known until I got it home ... Blessings!

Be still my heart!
Caravan was very tall on a flatbed truck going to get a new transmission. Hit a branch. Clobbered the AC. The driver did not even know. I wouldn't have known if it weren't for my neighbors spotting the caravan on the truck getting diesel, then driving past the wrecked AC.

Yesterday was cleaning with spirits, taping, rolling it out smooth. Wrists are wrecked but it is an excellent day for painting out the last thick coat of roof rubber.

I got up there last week to lay down eternabond tape over irregular gaps and edges. Will use a thicker nap roller, to finish it up.

Not quite done, yet. But closer.

Cleaner edges without railing. Saved a bit for when I am on & off the roof by way of rear ladder

Sunlit view with birdsong. This is west facing. The golden hour highlights the frog pond. Live poetry.

While intimidated by the AC install I warmed up by completing the vent/skylights switch out.
April 10, 2025 at 4:23 PM
This was so intimidating before I finally installed it. Starting in the Fall2024 I was watching you tube videos and gathering courage. Yah. Just got it in place last week. Courage is not the lack of fear but the pushing beyond it.
April 10, 2025 at 4:21 PM
Ah yes. The tarp was on SO long I was missing my screened in porch on wheels.
April 10, 2025 at 4:04 PM
Ah yes. Before the grand installation the other day

The 100lb box was certainly a challenge to get up to the roof. I would do it differently if done again. I learned that a plumb hoist is WAY harder than an angled pull. My ladder was not long enough, though. It's possible I could set the ladder on the locked scaffold next time -15 March 2025.
