I'm not surprised (neither by the weather nor people being unprepared), but I loathe and hate it (the cold). I'm subtropical, not subpolar, and I always hope for mild winter.
My personal hell isn't hot but frozen cold. Guess in hell, I'd have to spend my afterlife in an eternal ice chamber.

Really sorry, but I won't be there this year. On the very same weekend is also @zecora95.bsky.social s All Christmas Eve, and, well, one can only be at one event at the same time... But we WILL meet in Praha again next year, and I really look forward to it! 👍

So you totally should check out the fan comic "Guardian Angel"! Of course it's not canon and meanwhile around 1.5 or so years old, but so... touching! It focuses on how they first met when being alive, and I think it totally should become canon!

Can so relate. The older I get, the less I understand what has gotten into humans to settle in a region with a climate we're not the least bit equipped for by nature. Fall always pulls me down (more and more) because I know what's coming: the next seemingly endless wet, cold and dark winter.Hate it.

Von mir käme dann was in der Art: Entweder wir halten die gesetzlichen 11h Ruhezeit ein, oder ich MUSS mich dienstunfähig melden und zum Arzt gehen, und dann bin ich mal mindestens zwei Wochen weg! Und nichts von wegen "krank mit Ansage", wir können das auch vorm Arb.gericht klären! Also...?!?

Das wirst du hierzulande nicht erleben. Wir haben auch buchstäblich Dutzende GKV, jede schön mit eigener Verwaltung und eigener Bürokratie, da wird auch nicht mal rationalisiert. Solidarität für alle, zumindest was, was dem nahe kam, hatten wir in meinem Geburtsland mal. Ist nicht mehr gewünscht.

That carving would actually work for real! How difficult is it to draw such a carving so that the letters become visible but it would work for real? I'd get confused ever so often 🤣

Don't know the workshop prices in your area, but $200 sounds like almost the whole price. I hope police finds the culprit so he can be made to pay for the damage he did. Because desperate or not, that's no excuse to cause damage to others and just get away with it imo.
