#FFXIV Raid History: Direct Hit's predecessor was Accuracy - players who did have not enough Accuracy could miss their attacks. Each fight had recommended thresholds before the stat was replaced in Stormblood.

#FFXIV train boss fact: o5s features a ghost that attempts to push players off the train, and Tanks and Pranges did not have Arm's Length at the time. Players without KB cancels could use stage barriers to catch their fall... but these walls could be destroyed by other members in the party. 🙂

2 fun facts today!
1st: Tanks used to have access to Awareness, which would nullify critical hits against them. After its removal in 5.0, raid bosses implemented afterwards would not have the ability to crit players.
2nd: Artist apps for our #FFXIV raid zine close in 3 days! Don't miss out!

Can you imagine raiding in #FFXIV without waymarks? Waymarks A, B, and C were first added in 2.16 shortly before Coils T2 were released, and D, 1, 2 came along in 4.0 Stormblood. Players were allowed to move waymarks mid-combat, until controversy caused its removal... (1/2)

#FFXIV raid history: Certain duties, such as The Navel and Thok ast Thok, used to prevent players from being revived if they fell off. Fallen bodies would not respawn on the stage mid-fight, making them inaccessible to their party for aid.

This feature was removed in 6.1.

#FFXIV Fun Raid Fact: Sprint used to lock melees jobs out of their weaponskills by draining TP (Tactical Points) completely.

Sprint stopped using TP at the start of Stormblood, and the TP system was removed entirely with the release of Shadowbringers.

#FFXIV raid history: Healing abilities have grown over the years. Literally! WHM's Asylum started off at a 6y radius. It was slowly adjusted to 8y, 10y, and now sits at 15y.

Healers nowadays may ask you to "come in for heals", but "STACK for heals" was a lot more common before! And they meant it!

Did you know #FFXIV:
The stage in Binding Coil Turn 5 used to feature drastic elevation differences, but the stage was flattened in Patch 2.2 in order to address an issue involving attack ranges. However, the dip in the stage which many groups use to resolve Twintania's divebomb was preserved.
