to be clear, ned low in canon is not much like hannibal in any sense

but in some types of fanon ned? the narrative beats line up almost perfectly, even if the expression is very different. legitimately when hannibal was looking at that empty chair I was like "oh. he's realizing his love too late"

also the moment of the sister stuff coming up in hannibal I was like

"ah! I sorta get this character now, as I have been writing the archetype for two years, and also for my whole fuckin life if we wanna go back further"

(dead siblings, dead childhood loves, seemingly permanent loneliness. oops)
