tragically hip cover band, because we're being as cancon as possible on this year in particular. the crowd, with a lady looking perturbed that i just blasted her with flash the crowd, no flash, kind of blue the parking lot in the plaza with street lamps hitting the wet pavement and kids playing in the middle. long exposure so some people are doing some akuma shit.

blowing out the candles on the cake, my friends ashley and brent, who i would, for reasons later revealed, pay increasingly less attention to as the day progressed. looking back: not a good sign! it's fucking final fantasy 3, my social and academic life are officially In Shambles from this point forward my sister and her friends looking incredibly bored with my nonsense. why am i not wearing a shirt? it's sonic and knuckles, i don't have a shirt on for god knows why, and while i was definitely a sonic guy and said game was in heavy rotation, my particular brand of neuro-spiciness would eventually go in a different direction.

a couple more. the film was pretty cooked with a pretty strong red cast, but it was literally mystery film with no indication of when it was manufactured or how it was stored. i'm guessing the fogging at the sides is the old lens, i kind of dig it, maybe someday i'll waste a roll of good film on it.

labor day evening, shooting some extremely expired kodak gold 200 with the branette gloriette, a very basic camera from 1954 with naught but a focus ring and your own ability to eyeball distances to find your focus. for me, said ability is not especially fine tuned, but some of these are "a vibe"

an evening bike ride in august, kodak gold 200
this shed in the middle of a field along the rail trail bike path. i was doing some bracketing to test the light meter on my phone and i kind of like the framing here. a wicker man blair witch ass bundle of sticks, looking like a talisman atop a burial mound, with the yellow evening sun and long shadows. graffiti on some shipping containers, i liked the how the shadows fell on it the rail trail bike path as the sun sets from behind

got a roll of kodacolor 120 that had been sitting in my grandpa's yashica for 40, 50, 60 years? developed. all i got was this cryptid-ass liminal space baby.
a baby sitting in front of a window on a baby chair on top of some newspapers. the emulsion layers have separated over god knows how many years, so there's the appearance of ghostly afterimages in the photo. it's piss yellow because those colors are not getting preserved after that many years.

so anyway i started color correcting. it feels like the blues are pretty overwhelming on an overcast day like this and if i compress them towards the middle of the histogram, everything looks a little more natural. i don't know i'm just fuckin' around here.

ziggy & aubrey. coming from digital i really have to fight my urge to color-correct or push the color balance too warm with this ultramax. the best thing film is teaching me is just to let it be. i wish it was a different film stock but しょうがない, it can't be helped
