According to GinmuLime3216 on Twitter, Kurosawa originally wanted real brothers Tomisaburo Wakayama and Shintaro Katsu for Shingen and his double in Kagemusha. Wakayama declined so both roles went to Katsu, but he fell out with Kurosawa so Nakadai was cast instead.

THRONE OF BLOOD: Insanely good movie. Kurosawa is a master and Mifune is at the pot of his craft. I have to admit that I like the Japanese title, "Spider Nest Castle", and think a little bit of the sinisterness is lost in the translation by calling it Forest Castle.

THE INSPECTOR WEARS SKIRTS: Watched on Wednesday in memory of the great Stanley Fung. It's a great movie. I am planning on seeing the sequels soon, too.

If you said "I watched a show where the main character finds a Magic Lamp and the gorgeous female Genie inside falls in love with him and follows him home but her well-meaning bumbling causes wacky hijinks", anyone would think you had seen a very recent anime and not a 1960s American sitcom.

There's a display on the 3rd floor of the Akiba Donki near the north side of the escalators (I forget if that's the side where they come up or go down, but you step off and take a right) - if you have the chance and space to pick up one of the mugs on the lower left for me, I'd be super grateful!

This wireless charger I bought at the Shirow exhibit is very cute, but it also maxes out at a total of Five Whole Watts and is therefore basically a decoration piece.
