And it’s not like being the more “moral” (loose definition) party has helped the democrats in any way in recent years. It’s simply made them pushovers that allowed this rise to conservatism. And why is it always the oppressed that have to give sympathy to their oppressor?

I think they just want so badly to be seen as the “bigger people” or more moral than their counterparts. But like….. the right definitely would have (and have!) celebrated any # of democrats, queer people, black people suffering and dying
