I was a teen, and did not support it. Although I had supported the various other interventions that Blair took part in, Kosovo, Sierra Leone, etc

I think Blair and co's attitude was also hardened by those going well.

Depends how many minutes they think he can do. It's been a long time since he's started a run of matches
December 6, 2025 at 12:08 AM
Didn't fancy a swim then?
December 6, 2025 at 12:05 AM
You can't understand Blair's fondness for liberal intervention and the belief he had to back the US with looking at the disastrous failure of Europet nations to do anything effective during the horrors of the breakup of Yugoslavia

That part of his story is particularly bizarre, and I think very revealing of his character. His actual career is unspectacular but quite impressive, yet it wasn't enough for him.

He only has to last until the next election to block it for this cycle, and probably the next.

By view is that Britain will rejoin if there is a 60% of the population wants it, a pro European party in power that looks very likely to be re elected.
December 5, 2025 at 12:24 PM
Yeah, but can you put a price on smugness?
December 5, 2025 at 10:34 AM
Much like the government issues, it's rarely the comms.

He can't give a clear answer because he'd open up the question of when he stopped behaving like that.
December 5, 2025 at 9:24 AM
My point is about the issues in general.

Even with this project they are in the process of British-ifing it.
December 4, 2025 at 11:43 PM
It's bad because they insist on buying British or British-ifing stuff rather than buying off the shelf.

One day the MoD will learn that their main jobs should be to equip the forces rather than prop up British industry, today is not that day.

Except the Bradley is a good machine that has been in service for decades and is still in production
December 4, 2025 at 11:26 PM
Do you have problems reading?
December 4, 2025 at 9:39 PM
Ha, I see.

I guess you'd probably have to go back to Wilson for that. Which is quite a difference situation.

As for Truss, both dim, unwilling to admit and generally a terrible person. A bad combination
December 4, 2025 at 8:58 PM
Has Johnson's reputation improved?

I know there's a smallish number of fans but generally?
December 4, 2025 at 8:40 PM
Didn't Musk cave when the Brazilian government banned Twitter?

As for the porn sites, if they don't have UK based assets then they are hardly likely to pay up. If they cared they would have followed the law to start with.

Yes, they are learning the benefits of being the 3rd party. They can over promise with little chance of having to do it all.
December 3, 2025 at 10:38 PM
He seems to have bought the idea that the Tories are now Yimby, which requires more willingness to believe Tory front benchers than I'm capable of.
December 3, 2025 at 10:33 PM
Yes, based on weak evidence that brest milk is better.
December 3, 2025 at 10:31 PM
Yes, it also misses that our neighbours are just as capable of reading an opinion poll on British politics as anyone else is
December 3, 2025 at 11:37 AM
Oh well, at least Ed Davey would be happy
December 2, 2025 at 11:11 PM
I assumed it never ends. Argentina is a loser country so will continue to look for external reasons for it's failures.

Like most countries that are failing, most issues are home grown
