Google should be really scared of its usage dropping. My last two weeks, ChatGPT clocking 2 hrs/week, Google 10-20 mins (out of Top 10). This would’ve been ALL Google until recently. Getting answers, translating (extended stay in Morocco), helping think thru work and writing help, my ChatGPT usage.

Rituals are important, it is what gives meaning, texture and cadence to daily life. Amongst the best parts of travel are indulging in those rituals of various cultures and sometime adopting them, wholesale or with remixed versions with your own culture.

This is also the exact reason why I have been saying for a while now that mainstream media is obsolete, structurally and culturally. I would argue even morally. Everything else happening in our country is downstream from there…

One of the more fascinating sets of data I have come across recently: the economic value of various outdoor activities Americans do annually, acc to BEA/Commerce Dept. Boating/fishing the biggest, even bigger than amusement parks, RVing growing fast. Cycling is stuck, not growing much.

Have always noticed in Arab cultures men sit at coffee/tea shops facing outwards, not each other. This is true in these regions and also in Arab enclaves in western societies. I asked ChatGPT why and it has a great detailed explanation. TLDR: community, above all else.

Another one: I’ve never seen a country consume as many boiled eggs as part of their daily diet as here.
