We need more vegetable representation in children’s literature. We grow up seeing illustrations of tomatoes, carrots, and broccoli. But I’m upset that asparagus grows like this. I would’ve appreciated a warning! I guess always pictured them with more foliage. Out here they seem so… exposed.
