Turnage left Taylor in the care of her adoptive father, “enabling Defendant Cadle to thereafter subject Plaintiff to further horrific sexual abuse,” the complaint reads.

The complaint, filed in federal court on Friday, alleges that Taylor’s civil rights were violated by Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd, Detective Melissa Turnage, and Detective William Rushing for prosecuting her for lying about being raped by her adoptive father—when, in fact, she told the truth.
