Here in #bced, the BC NDP's election platform included two significant changes that would be immensely positive in schools: ensuring there is an educational assistant in every K–3 classroom and a counsellor in every school. The BCTF is looking forward to working with #bcpoli to make this happen.

Untenable conditions are driving teachers out of the profession. There's a serious problem with recruitment to be sure, but retention also needs to addressed. BC's new Education Minister needs to make the serious teacher shortage an urgent priority.

Denver gave people experiencing homelessness $1k/month. A year later, nearly half had housing.

They also had fewer ER visits, nights spent in a hospital, and jail stays.

The report estimates that this reduction in public service use SAVED the city $589k.
