Half term and the kids are alright. I’m fine with the brain rot if it results in baked goods.

Putting the back of my head to good use as the frame for @immykaur.bsky.social what a day this was (used the last chilli 🌶️ ‘borrowed’ from the greenhouse yesterday!)

Dropped the biggest kid off at uni yesterday, emotional rollercoaster ride of joy and tears. All her kitchen stuff was from my grandparents house which we’re clearing out, my Nana would have been so proud.

I have flown too close to the tomato sun. There are at least two more bowls waiting to be picked. I have made more passata than it is humanly possible to consume 🍅

A very nice few days at Bluestone holiday park in Wales, didn’t take many photos but obviously took one of the heat pump that each lodge had. Plant room was locked unfortunately so couldn’t see the rest of the set up. Why yes I am a delight to go on holiday with.

I have booby trapped my whole house with little grief bombs which is fun. The dog’s lead, a treat packet, a dust bunny of his fur.

What a charmed life to have had 4 grandparents until I was 30 and 3 until I was 40. The downside is that I just don’t have the neuroplasticity of youth to deal with losing them. Here’s my Grandad playing for Willesden in the 60s.

Highly highly recommend a little wander round the V and A if you’re stuck in a ‘humans are crap’ rut. Bonus tip: go with a teenager who is really into art and can tell you interesting things.

Being with someone you love at the end of their life really feels like time travel - hours pass, nothing else matters and the world just carries on around you.

Hey @crosscountryuk.bsky.social what do you think is a reasonable number of plug sockets for a train and why is it one? Still that’s one more than the last train had @immykaur.bsky.social

All 4 of my grandparents came here on a boat. One of my grandmothers was unmarried and pregnant at the time. This country was made by immigrants.

Found this guy on a footpath yesterday up at Lineover Wood. Slow worms are lizards not snakes, and actually quite fast!

Farage and his thugs are going to go full Trump in Durham it seems - is anyone organising around this locally that we can get behind?

Beeching was the most damaging thing to happen to Gloucestershire’s economy and environment in the last 100 years. Discuss.
