#TheBluetones in full Halloween attire!

The band still hilarious and utterly brilliant.

Some seriously good albums ranked this month, thanks to the guys for this challenge, let’s hope it keeps going!

OK Computer: Complete.

It was exceptionally hard to chop two, never mind rank! Look what didn’t make it 😲

Right, time to add my little bit to Richard Ashcroft’s new album, Lovin’ You.

I was not sure for the first few plays, a bit bland and daft at times. Then, towards the end of I’m a Rebel, we finally get the familiar baritone and he wrenches out the word ‘Sometimes’ and I’m in - for the whole piece

This #musicchallenge was a welcome reminder that there’s plenty to explore outside of Mr Brightside & Somebody Told me - they’ve become underrated.

From The Holy Bible, which is an overall experience rather than ‘track snippets’, we have this brutal examination of anorexia.

Still recovering from Sir Mick of Hucknell last night, so #musicchallenge posts will be later! He still has the pipes that lad!

Dalton was blessed with two great theme songs, this was my all time favourite for years, until another came along…

The genius of Neil Finn, backed by his brilliant band.

This is a perfect album, lyrically strong, musically exceptional and songs that stay with you.

The sample track below is an absolute worldie!

U2 at their experimental best, still highly digestible and enjoyable with highest level output like Stay, Lemon, Zooropa and interesting departures that include Numb (Edge vocal), The Wanderer (Cash vocal) and Daddy, who will pay for your crashed car!

The last truly special New Order album, and a CD that got more spins than many others in my collection.

It starts with Regret, and fires out the bangers and ballads all the way through to the final Avalanche.

The third album by Hothouse Flowers is the prime standard for the band, it’s that level up, a heavenly experience if you will.

I recommend everyone to listen.

Everything you want from the Meat Loaf / Jim Steinman partnership.

No longer with us, but their ridiculous, brilliant music lives on 🎸🎸

The bright orange bobbly packaging, pointy hats, bonus disc of dance tracks - it was easy to forget the actual LP!

Thankfully it was ‘very’ much up to standard.

I only bought two albums ‘live’ from Billy Joel, Storm Front, and then this, his final ever LP.

He’d admit himself that it wasn’t at his 70’s peak, but the tunes flow through him and there’s a good mix of styles too.

A worthy swan song.

A fine early effort from Blur, teeing up Parklife and the huge critical and commercial acclaim that followed.

Not my favourite Suede album, but this was the pioneer, the one that led to so much both for the band, and the music industry.

The importance of this LP should never be underestimated.

I still listen to this album and think there’s more to grasp, it may forever grow on me.

One of Weller’s finest, which is great praise indeed.

The title track will never cease to amaze me.

I’m up to date!

More depth to this than you may think, although the first track, title track and big single - is the best thing on it!
