So many outrages this week… but why cancel this? My youngest did a year with Americorps/NCCC. Young people volunteering for 9 months, helping American communities and their people. Total annual cost: $38M. Amount spent since 1/20/25 on Senior Presidente’s golf weekends: $26M. We are severely broken.

Of all the outrageous stuff this week, my personal connection was the (attempted) elimination of VOA. Voice of America carried Acoustic Cafe for about 20 years… it was wonderful to hear from folks around the world, lacking access to news, culture and music. Maybe my proudest moment as an American.
