Did some time travelling this afternoon. Ottawa Public Library hosted a vintage typewriter exhibit. Machines were in working condition I enjoyed a tour on the typewriters below. The green machine is a Hermes 3000, Swiss brand. The brownish Optima Elite is an East German model.

Our milkweed crop failed for a second consecutive year. Just a few minutes ago we saw the only Monarch #butterfly of the season. Pictures aren’t good because of the lighting and angle.

No trail breaking today but established routes were freshly snow covered. In the spring I’ll give this rock pile a go. Too slippery to chance it now. #hiking #outdoors 🥾 🥾

A beautiful day for off trail #hiking. This area is managed by the National Capital Commission. There are two primary loop trails and several trails carved out by cross country skiers and fat tire cyclists. Today I made some trails and followed the deer. 🥾 🥾 #hiking

Thinking about the unnecessary strain of late on Canada / U.S. relations. We are more than geographical neighbours. We are allies and friends.
For several weeks we’ve heard the word “respect” tossed north across the frontier.
Respect is a two way street.

Don’t know how many times I’ve watched On Golden Pond. It’s a favourite. Last night I watched it for the first time as an “old poop.” #wednesdayvibes

#Winter #Ravine #Walk #1. (Inspired by the awesome shots of his winter #hikes posted by @radiomercenary.bsky.social on another social-media site, I actually left the house today and took a walk down the nearest ravine in the East End of #Toronto)

Less than two weeks ago this stream I pass while #hiking was flowing. With several days of sub zero temperatures, it’s frozen.
