I look at LeBron who went straight to the NBA as a child (essentially) and the minutes and miles he's packed into his body and he's enjoyed a relatively healthy LONG career.
But it adds up. Anyway, on a long enough timeline, greed destroys everything.

Also, the NBA has started fining teams for resting non injured players. In essence penalizing teams for attempting to stay healthy and manage player minutes.

Every team with regular mid-week matches is having to suffer through injuries. The net effect of all of the football is that supporters get to watch patchwork teams play other patchwork teams in a slog through.
It also may make the league more competitive...??? Perhaps?
