Compromise morals vs being punished by your comrades and leaders to the point you either break your contract and risk becoming unemployable or get kicked out and actually become unemployable. I don't think you understand the level of control the military has on members lives.

In the event of a tyrannical regime it is entirely unenforceable. A military member risks more by even considering a challenge to an unconstitutional order than they would for obeying.

The military does not require the reading or comprehension of the Constitution. The oath is a facade to make the public happy. The USMC, when I served, was a Christian fascist organization; and I can only imagine it's gotten worse.
