ok, but while I was taking a sadness nap, I woke up and found these two curled up directly beneath me under the bed where I leave a blanket hanging so they feel safe

these cats really do trust me, they simply do not want to be handled and I get that. but I need to do it. it's so hard

it's still halfway through the process of ceasing to be a closet, but I'm really happy with it as a space. mostly gotta empty out the shelving above the monitor, remove the closet bar fully, and get a real lamp in here. but it's a huge improvement over being squished in a 1.5ft space by my bed
