Season 4 of True Detective had a promising opening, but then, like the herds of caribou in the opening, it promptly fell of a cliff

All of my media posts on Twitter are now being hit with "content warnings"

These two things I shared this morning both got warnings. I submitted appeals but I suspect I said something to upset Ba'algorithm, the God of Internet engagement

on the one hand, polygamy denial would be great because it allows us to jettison a pretty difficult piece of history

on the other hand, rejecting the testimonies of polygamy based on time/adjacency would require rejecting a lot of early history of the church

The growing active LDS and former LDS psychedelic culture is very interesting to me. I've read the paper that argued Joseph spiked the sacramental wine on occasion but the evidence is extremely sparse (non-existent beyond saying psychedelics existed in the Americas at that time)

I have been invited to co-host the Latter-day Peace Studies "Come Follow Me" podcast starting next year when we cover the Book of Mormon. I am very excited to explore the Book of Mormon through the non-violent, beatitude-centric hermeneutic.

the "exaltation is a group matter" idea reminds me of Iamblichus' statement "It is impossible to participate individually in the universal orders, but only in communion with the divine choir of those lifted up together, united in mind." #LDSConf

Even salvation isn't an individual thing unless that individual you're talking about is Jesus #GeneralConference

I think it's hard to parse sometimes the idea of "willing to abide" with "having been able to abide". Celestial kingdom is not filled with people who acted perfectly because that would just be a population of 1.
