I think it’s a conflation with strongly held opinions with fact. They’re just too used to people equivocating when expressing themselves so when someone is confident in their delivery they mistake it as a statement of fact.

I’m going to get hate from my fellow elder millennials but I’m going to give a like to this. I don’t hate Planescape Torment, but i definitely see the same flaws you do. I just think the good outweighs the bad on the whole.

So if you agree that voting in capitulation is wrong, I assume you will quickly move to remove Durbin from leadership and replace him with a whip that will actually whip votes for such important resolutions? Right? Right?

You say they exist only in his mind, but I would place money on a staffer having created Bailey Chatbots for Chuck to talk to.

I remember early DVDs were the same way. I was buying Farscape on DVD because we couldn’t get Sci-Fi channel where I lived. It was like 25 dollars a disc which had 2 episodes on it.

I now know why they’re called scare quotes. I’ve never been so afraid. Especially of the quotes surrounding soup.

An Eames chair is one of my goals. And I know it’ll never be as amazing and comfortable as I imagine it'll be, but even if it isn’t, I’d still love it because of how much effort i've put into getting it.

Have you ever tried to go past that? I’d get itchy for a few days but then it’d go away.

Someone get Kelly Loeffler on so she can lament the state taking over the means of production.

I think part of it is that rail guns *feel* more realistic because they're still tangible projectiles which is something we're used to while lasers feel like "pew pew sci-fi beams."

But Mamdani got a lower share of the vote than Adams in 2021 which definitely means that Mamdani's win doesn't matter and there's definitely no other factor at all that should be considered when comparing the two elections.

Counterpoint. Republicans even more seriously underperformed compared to recent elections, not even breaking 10%. That hasn't happened for 40 years. Why isn't that the framing you're using looking at the race?
