I think at the end of the day, my favorite giant robot from any franchise has to be Big O. Just a real "bloke" of a design. A hunk of man-shaped iron with bi ol' Popeye arms.

Besides the Karloff version, my favorite version of Frankenstein is probably Bobby Bailey from Monsters. It helps that, although he isn't stitched together from corpses, he *is* the product of the several terribly broken people, including his family annihilator father and tragically doomed mother.

This cover called out to be at Blockbuster one fateful summer vacation afternoon. I'm amazed I ever found such a thing, only for it to disappear almost entirely into the ether.

When it's been a few days since you did grocery shopping and you're about to break out some tasty-ass cottage cheese for breakfast, and then realize you actually bought sour cream.

Yeah, I've been hitting up Forbidden Planet in search of older/obscure comics and I just found this along with Bode's collected DEADBONE stuff. And now Landgraf is one of my favorite comics creators. Like, look at this Conan/Solomon Kane piece. This is just so fucking rad.

@jrbolt.bsky.social Ever read New York City Outlaws by Ken Landgraf? It's like Miami Connection as a indie comix. Just finished the first issue in the new collection and seems like it's right up your alley. So much 80s action cheese and melodrama.

Heh, I recently saw something about him warning 40k players to gatekeep the game because "they are coming for your 40k orcs," and at "orcs" someone responded with

I know it's a little out of left field but also still sorta relevant, but you ever see Marquis (1989)? It's about the Marky the Sad, but it's like weird people puppets. There's even a talking penis puppet.

Am I seriously going to have to start collecting the Peacemaker comics? I just found out that not only does it have Snowflame (the cocaine-powered supervillain), but also has a bee getting yoked by doing bench presses while the other bees gas him up.

Heh, I just bought the first two volumes of the collected Spain Rodriguez, including his Trashman, about a revolutionary commando who can turn himself into garbage. Underground comix for the win.

So, I decided to share this opening piece for my gothic space opera, and call it at that for the time being. I don't have family to support me, and between work and gym I don't have enough energy to seriously pursue publishing right now, and I feel I should pursue other creative endeavors.
