Despite the fact that I guessed most of the twists, the book kept me engaged till the last page, which is a testament to Robert's prose.

I specially liked Din's interaction with Augurs. It was brilliantly done and kept my on the edge of my seat so to speak.

While horror and intrigue drive the main story, there's just the right amount of humor to give you a break and let you catch your breath.

The world building is on point, with 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐝 being one of my favorite fantasy setting of all time. I hope we revisit this place once again in future novels.

What I loved most about the book was its tight plot. Not a single word felt wasted on spoon-feeding the audience or indulging in unnecessary world-building.
