Jonathan Hale, whose “People’s Vision Zero” group does citizen crosswalk striping in LA, was detained and cited for vandalism today by LAPD. PVZ tells the city government who they are and where they’re planning to add a crosswalk. Say they’ll stop if the mayor’s office condemns it or steps in.

I wrote about a possible electric hydrofoil ferry service in D.C. (www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/202...) but a reader points out there was a hydrofoil on the Potomac back in the 60s - nixed because it "proved too fast for comfortable sightseeing." Doubt that will be an issue this time around.

If you see federal law enforcement with their faces covered at Metro/bus stations, that is against protocol. GM Randy Clarke said at MetroFest Saturday that he asked for no face coverings and got “no pushback.”

A little late but -- between January storm and this week's, the National Park Service acquired a small snowplow for sidewalks and park paths. Before they were using hand shovels and a small snow blower, which may help explain why some of their property in DC was never cleared in January.
