Proud to stand with my hometown of #RichmondVA at #NoKingsDay to defend democracy 💙✊🇺🇸 While Trump & the GOP tried to frame the protest as a "Hate America Rally," nearly 7 million people nationwide gathered in love & solidarity, turning our collective rage – and grief – into joyful #resistance.

Like many Americans, I’m not feeling very celebratory this 4th of July. Writing (like dancing) is a kind of therapy for me. Sharing a short, personal reflection in hopes it offers some perspective – or at the very least, helps us feel less alone – as we navigate these unprecedented times together.
