I think that's defensible here. They likely sent this out just after it happened and don't have a lot of details.

I never get DM requests for money which is interesting because I'm in a position to help. It's because they know I would see through bullshit. If they are DMing it isn't real, don't give them money.

This is a video made by an Aussie combat medic in 1st Squadron. The guy talking in this is Jon Wick, an American Marine vet who leads Vanguard team. He & the Aussie combat medic are both volunteers that we matched with sponsors. They reference Sam Newey, who was a British volunteer killed in 2023.
