Sampling all the pistachio gelato on the #ViaFrancigena so you don’t have to. This one - in Orio Litta - is especially creamy

After an unexpected evening in Paris - blessed by Mass in the newly resurrected Notre Dame - the journey to rejoin the #ViaFrancigena continues. En route to Milan - 16 hours late but it’s a new day!

Thankyou to @seatsixtyone.bsky.social for flawless directions as to how to get from Gare du Nord to Gare de Lyon. However an 85 min delay on Eurostar due to broken window means will still miss connection

Adventure to rejoin #ViaFrancigena sustainably started well with a prompt Eurostar departure. However a broken window means we’re progressing at a leisurely pace and will miss connection to Milan. On the upside I might have a night in Paris on the train company!

Always love arriving at St Pancras - such a beautiful building. But have love/hate relationship with passport stamps. Not least that I have only 90 days to get to Sicily and then leave Schengen

Setting off to rejoin #ViaFrancigena. Trying to travel as sustainably and cheaply as possible. Good start was night in Clink261 hostel near St Pancras. Quiet as the grave - which was appropriate since my pod felt like large comfortable coffin. Snip at £23 in Central London

Poem of the day is “Breakage” on what would have been Mary Oliver’s birthday. I love the line “the broken cupboard of the clam…”. www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/poem-o...

When you visit your offspring after they leave home, but they don’t “do” hot drinks and there are no mugs in the place

Very grateful to @christianaiduk.bsky.social for giving me the opportunity to see what it would be like to live with tattoos for a week, and to make a stand to "Smash Colonialism" and to "Repay, Restore, Repair". @greenbeltfestival.bsky.social

Love Greenbelt - but camping over August Bank Holiday doesn’t feel like it should be this chilly! Was warmer camping in the Outer Hebrides last week. Still more than worth it to be a Hope Maker in the Field of Dreams! #Greenbelt25

Some of my favourite people are Parkrunners and some are Methodists. So Methodist Parkrunners are tops! Today - #MethodistConf at #TelfordParkrun

'tis season for cake & hospitality. And for discussing faith & state of world with retired Methodist Ministers. Always a joy. If you want insightful conversation about peace & conflict ask a 103 year old! Same again this afternoon - with leftovers going to my running club tonight

South West Coast Path complete! Ten glorious weeks. Didn’t even mean to embark upon it but the pandemic frustrated my sabbatical plans in 2020

South West Coast Path: Portland. Beautiful coastline - prisons - quarries - tourists - and their interwoven histories. An interesting place #SWCP

Back on the South West Coast Path - hopefully to finish it this time. Can’t believe we left the path at Abbotsbury nearly 4 years ago. Nature in all her glory (and a husband 😂)
