I haven’t, but that’s so interesting to know! I feel like working with the author, or collaborating with others who understand both versions, would be so helpful. Translation (especially for fiction) seems like such a big undertaking!

Hahaha supposedly! I re-learned how to knit this year and a lot of “how to begin” content suggested pre-reading, highlighting, and taking notes.

+ I can’t visualize well!

I know if I follow the pattern, I’ll have the right amount of stitches, but if I try to think about joining in the round or picking up for sleeves while I’m casting on the back, I get confused and overwhelmed 😅 It’s a very trust-the-process situation.

It hasn’t happened yet but that doesn’t mean it won’t! I was a little hyperbolic—I do skim through the sections I’m working on.

People talk about highlighting patterns/looking up new skills before starting, and THAT is way too much info for me to hold at once. I learn by doing it when I get to it 😅

lol I did this with knitting and just bought a sewing machine 😂 I’m telling myself it’ll pay itself off but it’s too soon to tell

Ooh this is such a cool resource! There’s not one super close to me but I may need to take a day trip to bloomington soon!

I make (and keep and reuse) a decent amount of our holiday decor! There’s still some consumption of supplies, but the crafting process is really grounding and makes me appreciate what I have.

I took my seedling scarf on a trip recently! I really like the pattern, it switches every few rows. It’s a good project to have going in between more complex patterns, too!

It was Becky Chambers for me! I still have a few of hers to read but her writing is so warm and immersive!
