Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery? Member of local archaeological society who found this incredible artifact claims an eBay 3d replica is infringing on his/the arch socs intellectual property?
The audacity!Thought we lived in more open source democratic times!
Roman dodecahedron replica removed from eBay after complaint
Archaeologists say the copy of the Roman artefact "ripped off" their work.

Spotted these collections at Trinity Market, Hulls.
Teapots (on all three walls) ✅
Magnets ✅
Certificates ✅

Quite rare to see collections like these days.
Are we a more minimalist society?
Are all the collectors of tat dying out?
Do you collect anything?

Highlight of my week was heckling 'Rudston Monolith!' at Stewart Lee during his show in York.

It was shouted in context- he'd actually visited and knew it was the largest megalith in the UK and was clearly impressed by my enthusiasm for prehistoric monuments!

Archaeology degrees are useful!

Tranquility of a frozen lake, spoilt by spotting some children walking into the middle, fortunately they didn't plummet in to the freezing water.

Did make me feel we could use some public information films to stop kids risking things like this.

This was an entertaining easy watch. Really enjoyed being immersed in the world of the 1960s space race for a couple of hours. 🚀🌕👨‍🚀

Afternoon at Sledmere's Christmas fair. Have to say after looking around busy stalls, it was such a tonic to walk around the grounds, visit the rare breeds farm and say hello to the animals. 😍

Here in #Bridlington snow fell heavy on Wednesday, holding on until it eventually completely thawed yesterday. Chaos ensued, roads ungritted, gridlock, burst water mains in town centre, phones down. I enjoyed the beautiful icey calm amongst the chaos. #seaside #snow

I was lucky enough to spot a red squirrel on my visit to Penrith in October, I cried as I don't recall ever having seen one in the wild before.

We so desperately need to protect our native species, wildlife charities are so poorly underfunded..... 1/2
Penrith red squirrel group sees 'huge' increase in greys
The group says the native red population is only just hanging on and could soon disappear.

Quite heartening to see investment going into a large scale excavation of Sheffield castle.

Lovely that the remains of the gatehouse are to become a feature within a public events space.

A walk today, a savoured escape from the responsibilities of Monday. Brief shelter in a church, respite from the wind. Snowdrops In the churchyard, too destabilised by the gusts to picture clearly. Inside, a candle, dressed in foliage and flowers.
In February the light lengthens, 2 minutes each day.

Tucked away just behind the chip shops, arcades and souvenirs on Scarborough Seafront you'll find this treasure.

Now a private residence, still full of intrigue...if only buildings could speak I'd love to hear it's stories.

New here! For my awkward first post.... Here's a picture taken yesterday of the River Hull at Driffield.

Yesterday was a perfect day for a walk, light reminding us of warmer days, but trees still skeletal enough for it to be acceptable to go home and put your pyjamas on at 5pm!
