I’m a homeopath living and working at the intersections of academics, alchemy, nature, and cosmic mystery. Always deepening my skill set in service to the balance of life. Based in the woodlands of Western Mass 🌲🍄
No worries - Bluesky only seems to show the parts of the thread with direct responses.

I have a decent library of research, too — and I know that research can be flawed. I defer to people who know how to pick studies apart since that’s not my expertise! 😉

Yes, I had posted this and several other papers in the thread above. I am sincerely wanting to understand and not spread misinformation. It’s not every day that I get to engage with a nanoparticle expert, but I’m hoping for a better response to legitimate research than “homeopathy is quackery!” 🙄

It seems that there’s some evidence for a nanoparticle model based on research and scholarship. With your expertise, I’m curious to know more about what you see as flaws or refutations here.

I think it’s very interesting and I’d love to hear from an expert who knows way more about this than I do.

Juan, I’m genuinely interested in understanding how the nanoparticle model either works or doesn’t work with respect to homeopathy. Yes, I am a homeopath with my own personal experience, biases, etc. And, I’m just genuinely interested in contributing to an understanding of how it works.

Holy shit. I will happily back you up over there if you can direct me to the post at hand. I’m so sorry that you experienced that kind of pile-on. That’s just gross. Happy to support an anti-bigoted perspective so that basic human decency doesn’t get drowned out in the world of so-called healers.

I am with you, Meg. I can’t even.

I’m not trying to “grab” anything. I’m trying to understand the mechanisms behind it through scientific inquiry.

As a PhD in Nanomedicine, surely you’re able to offer substantive refutations of the research beyond “homeopathy is quackery”? Or point me in the right direction of someone who can…

I think the many people who have experienced benefits from homeopathy would beg to differ with your assertion.

You may not understand how it works, and you may not have experienced any benefits, but just because something hasn't worked for you doesn't mean that it doesn't work.

Are you familiar with nanoparticles and their applications in medicine?

Homeopathy works by virtue of nanoparticles -- not "nothing."

This has been well-documented. These are just a few of the studies demonstrating this phenomenon:

Are you aware of specific instances in which homeopathy has had a beneficial effect?

Are you aware of specific instances in which conventional medicine has caused harm?

It seems to me that it makes sense to acknowledge the benefits and limitations of each.

Anything can be harmful if used incorrectly.

Are you aware of specific instances in which homeopathy has directly caused harm?
