But ultimately it was just a bit of a carnival rather than a code. Felt a bit sad at the end. "There's still work to be done..."
Intrigued by the gender neutral Kiriko, hunting for & feeding what felt like unborn ancestors. Google brings up a game character wearing a fox mask. Met the fox as a being that moves between dimensions this year. Seemed like some sort of integration of Mahito, mum, and the outer limit of the granny.
Thoughts on The Boy and the Heron: nice to say goodbye with something so personal, feels like it reflects on Miyazaki 'the artist.' Loved the character of the Gray Heron! And his dissembling transformation from eerie spectre to ridiculous trickster. One of my favourite characters from Studio Ghibli.

and so you cant help but feel that youve been blessed 😅
That moment when you are finishing your phd thesis and discover its already been written by David Abram, its just been made into a film by Studio Ghibli, and the last reference you need is in a book you got your dad which he has probably lost but now costs £70. and of course, its about tricksters.

Got my dad 'Invoking Ireland' by John Moriarty two years ago for xmas where he most clearly sets out his idea of 'Enflaith' or Bird Reign. Now being sold on Amazon for £70 😲 its the birds!

Excited to see Studio Ghibli's The Boy and the Heron this weekend! will be interesting to see another bird functioning as a psychopomp/ guide and how this is being so clearly formulated in popular imagination. Maybe all those birds we heard during Covid!

At home in Ireland finishing up my thesis. Wondering how the luminescent scenery has affected my colour palette and the constant rhythm of the tide has affected my cognitive development. Maybe could be an essay / love letter one day.

Lin explains how orb weaver spiders sense vibrations in web. A series of mechanical elements attenuate/amplify vibration. Signal comes from web, through leg segments, and finally to the lyriform sensors. Robot spide and robot prey on springy web to model this!
