Tonight, I watched the NDP leadership contestants face off in their first debate of the race!

It was mostly a competition to see who could agree with one another more, but with a twist: they had to speak some French.

Here’s how that went:

Carney just signed a deal with Alberta that lays out conditions for a new oil pipeline.

In doing this, he managed to piss off one of his own cabinet ministers (who promptly resigned), coastal First Nations, the B.C. government, the Green Party and the Bloc Québécois.

But uh, here's what he got:

Carney to reporters: there won’t be a pipeline without a private investor.

Carney to the chamber of commerce: here are all the ways we’re bending over backwards to attract a private investor:

A bunch of white nationalists donned their little costumes, stood on a London, Ontario overpass and demanded to be taken seriously.

But why would Carney reward Smith with this gift just days after her nuclear attack on trans kids' lives?

Before I even clicked the video to see the context in which Carney responded “who cares” to a reporter asking when he last spoke with Trump, I knew it would a female reporter who asked the question.

Why? Because Carney is consistently more short with and rude to female reporters.

Sure enough:
