Otherwise, a beautiful day in Westminster. Though I hate to give the lizard OH (already back into thick hooded cardigan inside) any credence, there was a fresh bite to the air on the walk past the Supreme Court on Parliament Square.

In the TRH, I particularly love the views of 15thC #paris such as here, with the Charles V-era Louvre - whose foundations you can see in the basement of the Louvre museum now - behind Paris's sturdy city walls whilst autumn sowing takes place in what's now swanky St German des Pres (the meadows).

Such a relaxing and sunny week at Warners Sinah Warren on hayling island! Glad to have the weekend back at home, though, before a particularly busy week back at work.

Snaking around the top of the Bristol Channel having diverted North through Gloucester. Like most traffic would've done for 100s of years before the bridges were built.

For those who follow me for manicure news rather than history or London life, you'll be pleased I'm continuing the #pastels summer. #BIAB #butter #yellowmani

It's been a lovely break from work, incl. fab visit to Titanic VR in Camden (air conditioned basement on boiling day? yes please!). But back to work tomorrow.

Something heroic and a metaphor for resilience at life about this tiny budding seedling giving it a go on the wall at my station @transportforlondon.bsky.social Thrive where you land.

My favourite image of St Genevieve is the statue by French sculptor Paul Landowski (who also created Christ the Redeemer in Rio), erected on the Pont de la Tournelle in 1928 to honour her reputed protection of Paris during the Great War. It's also a nod to her flood protection, facing the river.

Dec: An Evening with Private Eye at the Shaftesbury Theatre. Not fictional sadly(!) but some LOL impressions from Jan Ravens, Lewis MacLeod & Harry Enfield alongside Ian Hislop rounding up the news of 2024. Brilliant hour's entertainment.

Sept: Wizard of Oz at Gillian Lynne Theatre. Star turns (The Vivienne as Wicked Witch and Aston Merrygold's Tin Man) amongst an energetic, talented cast - loved Dorothy (Aviva Tulley) and puppet Toto. Less projection and more onstage magic would've added but fun, and lovely to see so many kids there

Feb: Jesus Christ Superstar in Cardiff WMC with my mum. Mesmerising! Staged around a giant crucifix (dais, Last Supper table) a reminder throughout of the inevitable end. 5* Caiaphas (Jad Habchi) & Judas (Shem Omari James), whose hands, stained increasing silver from his 30 pieces = powerful.
