I genuinely don't understand what argument they're trying to make. Is it just "pretty books bad"?

I actually recently found this one at my local library (which is also where I've gotten your other books because I'm broke). I'm about halfway through it and it feels like finding water after a drought of slogging through just-okay thrillers. I already know it'll be a 10/10
