Talking to my mom, she just read to me and I picked it up. I do recall that the school had an issue as I did not get on with their way of teaching - just let me read.

I can not remember how I learnt to read as was pretty fluent before I went to school. I remember being totally bored by reading lessons. For my brain, phonics makes sense, three-cueing is impossible to comprehend.

That is a long day!
