What a sad, sad commentary on US “society.”

Just for the record: I don’t want a dictator.

I also don’t want a convicted felon, adjudicated sex offender, thoroughly corrupt, mentally unstable, malignant narcissist liar in the White House.

I’m a 30-yr NPR listener/member & while I have some criticisms, they’re an essential information source for millions.

But public media is more than NPR/PBS. These cuts threaten small stations the most & some will close. Consider donating to one: see cpb.org/aboutpb/rural.

Public media is more than NPR and PBS. Rural stations are often the only source of local news in small communities, and are crucial to emergency services, sharing warnings and real-time info in emergencies like tornados and flash floods. Radio reaches places cell service doesn’t.

The cuts will impact smaller stations most. They rely on federal funds for much of their budget. Rural communities will lose access to news and entertainment, but also crucial disaster info-there are lots of places radio reaches but cell signal doesn’t.

To quote my spouse, “anyone who thinks the rich are rich because they’re the best and the brightest hasn’t met a lot of rich people.”

Here’s the statement from County Judge Tim O’Hare (county’s top elected officer, not a judge - it’s a TX thing). These folks are all about drawing lines to choose their voters, not letting voters choose who represents them. Whether or not you think it is racism (it is), it sure isn’t democracy.
