Today my fab school made it to Look North- the work we are doing with a mainstream SEND hub is allowing us to support students with more complex needs and help them to belong! Couldn’t do it without my fab team!

Tonight was the first in a series of transition evenings for our new y7 - amazing evening with 110 new students and parents attending. This will be our biggest year group with 182 students - tangible evidence of the improvements we have made and the change in community perception. Proud to be TGA

Last day of term reflection. It’s been a long and busy term but we made it and we moved forward with our improvements. Students were supported in a range of ways and we looked after staff.

This week we have the school show - we have a production of ELFJr the musical. It’s going to be a week of late nights but love seeing the kids shine and show their talent in a positive way

1/2 Students have been doing a reverse advent calendar and collecting for the local food bank. This week lots of the items came back in hampers for our families and a delivery of presents for more families from another charity. Over 80 young people supported for Christmas.

Today we held our careers conference with around 20 providers. Some have joined us every year and been part of our improvement journey. So good to hear them say - keep doing what you have been doing we can see the change in the students!! # proudtobeTGA

1/2 This week an external trust came into for a behaviour review. Great to hear validation of the things we do to support our most vulnerable and challenging learners. It’s so easy to forget or lose sight of the positives in the day to day challenges.

Love the proud Friday phone calls we make. Always save them to the end of the day after all my other calls (including grumbly parents) so I end my week on a positive! Always surprises some parents who answer ‘what have they done now?’🤣

Today I was able to share our ofsted report from our inspection in July. I am happy to share we are RI. For only the second time in 17 years the school is not graded inadequate so this is huge and yes we are celebrating an RI judgement. It’s the next stepping stone on our journey!!
