Meta abandoning fact-checking leaves voters further exposed to misinformation ahead of the election. It's time for truth in political advertising. My ‘Voter Protections’ bill ensures transparency and accountability—because freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom to lie.

Fires in LA mirror Australia’s devastating Black Summer bushfires—both fueled by a hotter, drier climate.
We must legislate a National Climate Risk Framework to protect homes, businesses, and communities while reducing insurance costs. Every $1 invested in adaptation saves $11 in disaster recovery.

The major parties are trying to rush through laws that could harm some of our most vulnerable. These changes could see up to 80,000 temporary visa holders or asylum seekers at risk of deportation—despite claims the laws address serious risks.
Australia is better than this.

🚨Good commitment from Brazil. Countries need to step up to ambitious 2035 targets yet for Australia, the Albanese govt are looking for excuses, delaying the needed commitment of at least 75% by 2035. #climate #auspol
I'd missed this: Brazil has announced a 2035 GHG emissions reduction target of 59–67% below 2005 levels. For a developing country, 59% is big! (I don't fully understand the 67%; I think it has something to do with recognising offsets sold to other countries.) www.gov.br/planalto/en/...
Brazil presents its new climate target aligned with Mission 1.5ºC
The country raises its ambition with the commitment to reduce emissions by up to 67% by 2035

Shame on Labor MPs, now voting against scrutiny of, in their minister’s words: the biggest reform to electoral laws in 40years. It’s a deal between Labor and the Coalition at the expense of the Australian people #integrity #auspol
