This footage was from Port Melbourne beach a few weeks ago - jetskis dangerously and illegally close to swimmers. Thirteen years ago a swimmer was killed here by a rogue jetski. My piece in The Age today about growing calls for intervention on the bay:

Looking at Google reviews for fish and chip shops around my area. Not sure whether to laugh or despair at this review celebrating that a dish and chip shop has not “succumbed to the pressures of woke” 🤔 what does a woke fish and chip shop look like!? 😂

City of Melbourne has some beautiful tree canopy. I know some people aren’t mad on Plane trees but it’s so lovely that our downtown areas look like this - so nice and shadey.

Big change out east - this could be Melbourne’s first ‘teal’ independent Mayor? Sophie Torney elected mayor at Boroondara council. Incumbent councillor Victor Hugo elected deputy.

Ohhh I like this tool for transparency! Our council reporting team at The Age noted during the local council election period in Victoria that the biggest political spenders on Facebook were Lord Mayor Nick Reece’s campaign, an anti-Greens hit campaign … and then the Victorian Electoral Commission.
