A woman in motorsport, and no, I don’t care if you like that or not. Marmalade maker, cat lover, science fiction reader. Oh wait, botany geek.
This is where snow is *supposed* to be — up in the mountains where it belongs. Don’t @ me.

It monsooned at Brands Hatch for the start of Heat 2 of the Formula Ford Festival. These guys are incredibly good in the wet.

@bauxoffice.bsky.social has completely corrupted me. Had to spend my hard-earned cash on Superview to watch the Bathurst 1000. Have to do something with my off-season. Now I need a second screen so I can keep up with Petit Le Mans as well. Sigh.

Marshalling pro tip: a bear on track is a waving yellow. If it comes into the station it’s an alert. (👋 from the last racing weekend of our local season at Mission BC!)

Typo fun in Vancouver! I had no idea that slithery raccoons were a thing.

For my friend @bauxoffice.bsky.social who might be bored watching the end of the Nascar race, how about checking out the Suzuka 1000Km?

That was an UGLY start to the Tour de France.

Just finished marshalling the Nurburgring 24H. Bucket list event achieved. I am still in awe of a race that includes a 25.3 km version of Sebring Green Park.

The last lap of the Le Mans 24H is a wave of mixed joy and sorrow. We come out in our orange suits to salute the battered cars that have made it all the way. All of us “have dust in our eyes” as they file by, our flags showing them we have been with them the whole time. À l’année prochaine !

Hey, @aoracingusa.bsky.social, is your merch shop open today (Tuesday)? I’m a commissaire on the inside (second chicane) and due to my shifts will not be able to access the shop later in the week. I need a Spike stuffy to complete my set!

I’m reading two books on Libby: a Sandford police procedural I’ve read zillions of, and John Scalzi’s When the Moon Hits Your Eye. I thought I was reading the Scalzi but somehow it was about Nazis in Virginia. For a minute I thought, wow, Scalzi’s really extending his craft here. Woops, wrong book.

Attending intervention and extraction training for EVs after a day of local racing. Yes, we have EVs running here in grassroots road racing! Fun to see concepts I learned at Formula E and Le Mans applied to regional events.

Unpopular opinion incoming: the new IndyCar alternate “greens” are super ugly with most, if not all, current liveries. I get the idea, but I wish they’d picked a better shade.

I scored Rexy and Roxy stuffies at Long Beach! Who says I have to grow up? I am absurdly thrilled.

I just want to say that I am LOVING the new Aston Martin Valkyrie GTP car. Looks like a million bucks, sounds amazing, nimble. Surprisingly quick for something that’s still being sorted.

Holy moly. Democracy is alive and well in the Vancouver by-election today. HUGE lineups to vote all over the city. If I were to use the East Van and DTES areas as examples, Ken Sim and his handpicked VPD-supported toadies are in for a shock.

Why are all threats “existential” right now? Do people even have any idea what the word means?

Nice little earthquake here about 15 minutes ago. Felt like a big truck hit and jolted our building. Hmmmm.
