Are you still running the Trailmax Raids on your V-Strom? I’ve been thinking about getting a set for my wee.

The rally is new too, this was its second year. There’s classes and trials for every skill level so it seems like it be a good intro to the ADV community. I’m in Northwest Louisiana it just feels like there’s just.. nothing but cruisers and sport bike riders around here.

It seems like a rly good rout for someone inexperienced like me. Big Bend was the closest one to me before the Hill Country opened and that one would be way too much for me and my bike to handle lol. Wanted to go to the TouraTexas Rally this year too but missed it.

Took out the liners in the jacket and pants for my ride home and opened up all the vents. Got plenty of airflow and most likely would be pretty comfortable up to 80f.

My initial impressions are very good. This is my first riding suit though so I don’t have anything to compare it to.

Yeh I’ve got some merino base layers in my wishlist at REI. I think with the rain liner over the jacket and my usual hoodie as a mid layer I’m gonna be good to go down to freezing temps. Sizing up on the pants gave me enough room for my regular jeans with both the thermal and rain liners in too.

Stayed very warm on my ride to work at 45f. I feel really confident this suit will do great when it gets even colder in the mornings. After wearing them on a ride, I feel like I could probably have ordered a smaller size in the pants but I still think ordering a size up was the right choice.

Pretty happy overall I think!

Forecast for tomorrow morning when I leave for work is 45f and it’ll be around 70f when I go back home. Nice test for how this all works as a “4 season” suit.

Jacket fits! I can get both the thermal and rain liners in and there’s still enough room to accommodate the back armor. The rain liner works as an outer layer as well so taking it out leaves plenty of room for more mid or base layers if I need them.

Shoes are also as perfect a fit as I can expect!

I’ve never spent this much on clothing in my life! Went ahead and ordered the next size up in the jacket and shoes. I don’t want to wait a week for the return to process and then another week for the new ones to get here.

Bummed that I need to send the jacket and shoes back. Especially since the retailers no hassle returns are in fact a hassle since they don’t do direct exchanges apparently. 🫤

Gloves are a perfect fit

Jacket is too small with the thermal and back protection in.

Pants are a bit baggy but I don’t to risk a smaller size that may be too tight.

Shoes are too short for my toes… but aren’t too narrow! Next side up should be perfect.

I think you’ve fully validated my choice to go with the 4 season jacket. Order has been placed, crossing my fingers that I got the sizing right on my first try!

The sand 5 jacket was on the top of my list but the price is just a little too much for me. The offtrack looks pretty similar, just a little less expensive and more street focused.

How do you like yours when it gets cold?

Oh yeah their heated puffer vest looks so comfy!

The rain layer in that offtrack jacket working as an inner OR outer layer is really appealing. I wish the pants were the same way but they’re just an inner. Their Sand 5 pants work that way so I might get those. The color options match and the styling is pretty similar. More expensive though.

Hoping I can put that same trust in their other stuff because that hasn’t been the case with any of the other brands so far.
