Just talked to my 84 year-old mom who thought he was referring to a mental status exam which is routinely given to people 65+ by their doctor. Nope - this is cognitive testing which is only given when there are signs of dementia. Three times means they are measuring rate and extent of decline.

I'm no psychologist but I've always had 4 personal rules of engagement:

1. Have the humility to acknowledge you just learned some new info and need to research it.

2. Admit you're wrong when you know you're wrong.

3. Apologize when you know you've done wrong.

4. Lose the reactionary impulse.
