History nerd, especially 20th century, and an obsessive cricket badger 🏏🦡

Currently researching my first book on the transformation of the British Army during the Second World War
I'm really chuffed to have been awarded my History M.A, specialising in Second World War. And to top it off with a Merit as well. 🎓📚

Many thanks to all who supported me, especially my wife Clare Cooper and my dissertation supervisor Phil McCarty.

Time for a nice takeaway celebration tonight :) 🍕

Absolutely chuffed (and in shock) to get 78% on my M.A. dissertation! Thanks to all who supported me…

What a brilliant journey—fantastic course, brilliant lecturers, and mates for life. And to top it off, graduating with a merit… and so close to a distinction too!

Celebration time! 👨🏻‍🎓📚

Safe to say, bravo #Canada. You represented all of the (sane) international thought in yesterdays #icehockey… 🇨🇦

So pleased to have finally completed and submitted my History M.A. dissertation to @wlvuni.bsky.social:
‘The Right Sort of Chap’: Recruitment, Selection & Training of British Army Junior Officers, 1939-45.

Huge thanks to my wife Clare & supervisor Dr. Phil McCarty for their patience! #history

Ah, the madness of the final stretch of M.A dissertation writing…

I got a picture of General Ronald Adam (big part of my research) looking up at me wholly unimpressed with my output… 😂

Sorry Sir, I’ll stop looking at videos on social media…

Along with criticising those against playing against Afghanistan, this tool just seems to think he can continue lobbing grenades as he steps down

Diving deep into my M.A. dissertation on the evolution of British Army junior officer selection & training in WWII…

30,000+ words of notes for a 15,000-word essay! 😂

If I ever did a PhD, it’d likely be on General Ronald Adam—the most consequential British general most never think or heard of
